The Whale & Ale Welcomes Beatles Tribute Band

Back_beats

San Pedro, CA, June 20, 2006 - On Friday Night, July 21 from 9 p.m. to Midnight, The Backbeats will entertain at The Whale & Ale, San Pedro.
There will be no admission fee or any minimum purchase.

The Backbeats are a Beatle Tribute band. Wearing the Traditional black suits worn by the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show 1964, the band comprises Kevin Howland (as Paul McCartney), Donald Mendonca (John Lennon), John Worley (George Harrison), and Gene Martin (Ringo Starr). All band members are veteran Beatle music player, playing clubs and events throughout Los Angeles. The Backbeats concentrate on the early years (Hard Day's Night era), You’ll hear songs like... Love Me Do, She Loves You, I Want to Hold Your Hand, as well as the Beatles later work, Don’t Let Me Down and Get Back. It is unfortunate that we will never be able to see the real Beatles perform again; fortunately, you can still see The Backbeats on Friday July 21st at The Whale & Ale.

The Whale & Ale is LA's only Authentic British Restaurant & Pub south of Santa Monica. It opened in 1988 and re-opened in 1995, under the current ownership, to immediate critical acclaim. Now in it's eleventh year, entirely oak-paneled, it has a long oak bar with brass fittings, a balcony overlooking the piano lounge, fireplace & grand piano in the corner. Come to The Whale and Ale site for photos, menu & entertainment listings. It can be found in the fun area of San Pedro (the business/dining/art gallery district), & the menu has grown to include many new dishes like Beef Wellington in Perigordine Sauce, Homemade Meat Pies, Salads, Pastas, Curries, Rosemary/Dijon baked rack of lamb, of course - Fish & Chips, Salmon & Swordfish.

When you add to the occasion a skilled mixer of Martinis, Manhattans, Old Fashioneds & the like, or fourteen imported rare Ales on tap, then you have a great lunch or dinner out.

Live entertainment on Friday, (and now Monday), nights; ample parking & all major credit cards accepted.

Visitor’s comments say it best:

“I just want to take a moment to thank you for your wonderful walking tours of Williamsburg & Jamestown, and our visit to Yorktown. Your passion shines through   and you possess a gift for making history 'come alive.' Your presentation goes far beyond the history books, and without your narration, Williamsburg would have just been another tourist site of shops & restaurants.” Regards, Sue Escobar, Luxury Travel Inc. San Jose”

“The kids are still talking about their time with you in Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown. Thanks for the life-long memories! We will definitely be contacting you before our next trip to your area, which the kids are insisting happens soon. Thanks Again, Kathryn, Alan, Kyle & Michaela”

“We all truly enjoyed your knowledge and your presentation. Students were taking this morning about the little play you put together. Thank you very much for everything. Our Academy will definitely keep you in mind if any more field trips come up or as reference to other schools. Sincerely Claudio R., Science Teacher”

Dreams can come true in Natchez Mississippi

Have you ever just dreamed of being taken back to a time of yesteryear?  Being treated as though you are really someone special?  Every one longs to be that truly pampered sole.  When you visit the beautiful, historic city of Natchez, Mississippi and take one step onto the grounds of Dunleith Plantation you can close your eyes and know that dreams can come true! Housenight_sm_1  Take a deep breath as you begin a jorney that you can call a fairytale.  From walking the grounds, to realaxing on the porches gazing at what has got to be the largest and oldest Magnolia tree one has ever seen, to having the most romantic dinner followed by a night that you can and will forever dream about.
